THE GREAT, GREAT HARVEST. . . .

I am hardly through with my posts on my trip to England. . . . . . one especially I wanted to share was the  British version of the GREAT HARVEST.    One of our day trips included a drive to the BATH & WEST NATIONAL GARDENING SHOW.  There were beautiful flowers and garden related items everywhere.  But, then there was this barn. . . . . . .

BELIEVE ME IT WAS HUGE!

THIS IS ONE HONKIN' HUGE BUNCH OF CELERY!  IT HAD
WON FIRST PRIZE ON SIZE.












THIS WON FIRST PRIZE FOR COLOR, SHIINE AND LEAF TEXTURE.






LAST WEEK I TOOK MY GRAND DAUGHTER OUT PUMPKIN SHOPPING. . . .

I WOULD SAY THAT ORANGE PUMPKIN LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE A
CONTENDER IN A USA PUMPKIN CONTEST. . . . . AS FOR MY LITTLE PEANUT
I WILL GIVE HER FIRST PRIZE FOR EVERYTHING!

ENJOY THE FIRST WEEKEND OF OCTOBER WHERE EVER YOU
MAY BE. . . . . I AM HEADING OFF TO THE FLEA MARKET
IN THE MORNING. . . . CAN'T WAIT!

Now these shots of pumpkins is something I miss in Ireland. We've been living here for 4 years and slowly but surely more pumpkins seem to be around each October. We kind of helped Halloween have a boost since it's so big to decorate in New York and each year we add a few more decorations on our street. Loved your shot of the giant white pumpkin and all the madly large veggies in England. We do have these wonderful agricultural shows here- thanks for sharing.
