MANTLE MADNESS. . . .

BEFORE (SORRY FOR THE POOR SHOT)

AFTER  (DON'T LIKE THE CANDLESTICK)

ANOTHER OUTDOOR BIRD FLIES IN. . . . AND FINDS A PERCH
 OF ANTIQUE BOOKS.

. . . AND THEN ANOTHER JOINS HIM.

THE MANTLE IS GOING TO HAVE SOME MAJOR CHANGES,
BUT UNTIL THEN, I HAVE LIGHTENED UP THE VIEW.  THE
BLUE AND WHITE PLATTERS NEVER REALLY LOOKED RIGHT,
THOUGH MY COLLECTION IS QUITE LARGE AND I SO WANTED TO USE THEM.
 MUST PUT THEM
AWAY FOR AWHILE UNTIL THEY BECKON TO ME AGAIN.

EVERYONE IS USING OLD BOOKS AND BECAUSE OF THAT I WAS FIGHTING
THAT CONCEPT.  BUT, PUSH CAME TO SHOVE AND THERE I WAS IN THE
MIDST OF IT ALL,  USING THEM TOO.

It is looking beautiful Mary Anne.

I finally got around to adding old books to the bedroom mantel. Seeing lots of them in the land of blog.

I have some old books on my little side table in the living room. I have a box of them, could have them all over the house! Ha, Ha. They look good with the birds.

I think it looks great. I know what you mean about the old books, but I recently gave in, too.

I've always used old books, Mary Anne, just because I have so many. I love that the outdoor birds have flown in for the winter. Beautiful.
